On this week’s episode of the Lu and Bean Read podcast, children’s book author Debbie Roppolo reads us two chapters of her early reader book Amelia Frump and her Peanut Butter Loving, Overactive Imagination.

Debbie has been published in national and regional magazines, newspapers, and the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Amelia Frump and her Peanut Butter Loving, Overactive Imagination is her first children’s book. She patterned the character Amelia after her own childhood. She is the editor-in-chief of Dancing With Bear Publishing, a field editor for Taste of Home magazine, and an award-winning writer and baker. Married for more than twenty-two years, she has two sons and lives in the Texas Hill Country. Debbie’s favorite children’s books are Beverly Cleary’s novels.

Curious, what happens in chapter 6? You can purchase the book at Amazon.com. The girls laughed out loud many times while we read. They especially loved when the monster stuck the crayons up her nose, of course.

Kids Book Review

A special thanks to 8-year-old Tate from Minneapolis for sending us a review of Echo by Pam Munoz Ryan. Your review convinced us to keep the book on our list despite the intimidating page count! We’d love to hear more of your book reviews! Here’s how to send us one.

Thanks for listening! Don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss an episode.
